At every trade show, conference, customer meeting, and catchup, the AEG team is asked about Sustainable Fuel (SAF).  What is it?  Where is it available?  How much will it cost?  Do we really need to buy SAF?

In short:  It’s a drop-in replacement fuel, more places than you realize, not as much as you think, and absolutely yes.

At AEG, we are enthusiastically supporting the IATA and ICAO commitments to achieve carbon-neutral growth in aviation from 2020 onwards and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Nearly 3% of the world’s CO2 Emissions occur as a direct result of air travel and of that 3%, over half of aviation carbon emissions are represented by just 1% of the world’s population.

As we look to the future of aviation, we take the view that the most critical component in aviation’s pathway to carbon neutrality is the increased production and adoption of SAF and we’re proud to bring to market the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Platform.

Making SAF the Simple Choice

This year we released a product offering that we believe takes a big step forward in making it as simple as possible for customers to start their journey flying on SAF.

The AEG Fuels’ SAF Platform is a web and mobile portal that provides any operator a channel to begin easily and rapidly integrating SAF into their regular fuel programs and expedite their efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.  With the click of a button, customers can understand where SAF is available, order the product, and have visibility to their total GHG Reduction from purchasing the product in lieu of conventional jet fuel.

The distribution of SAF needs to fit into our industry’s regular processes and procurement channels:

• Term supply contracts
• On demand through AEG’s 24/7 dispatch
• Instantaneous refueling authorizations via AEG’s web-based Fuel Management platform
• AEG’s Mobile App

AEG is here to make it as easy as possible to join the industry in achieving carbon-neutrality.

Alongside the ability to search by airport for physical SAF supply, we’re thrilled to have customers start participating in our Book & Claim program, allowing operators to purchase SAF from AEG as a replacement product for conventional jet fuel and match that supply with a local end-user while still receiving the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) benefits.
